September 29, 2009As I write this entry i can’t help not to cry. I don’t even have the courage to watch the news. During the day when typhoon Ondoy furiously hit our country me and my family were having some panic buying. I am not abreast with whats happening in other provinces specifically in metromanila because the electricity in our area had been cut off due to the heavy rain that made some parts of cavite literally rivers. It saddened me to finally see the extent of damage, the numbers of innocent lives taken, the missing individuals, the agonizing families, the children, the newborns, the elderly even the dogs and other animals who unfortunately didn’t survive. It pains to watch how people struggle to hang on to something fighting the tremendous flow of floods. It broke my heart to know that until this very moment some others are still trapped without anything to eat and yet when i read some threads on FB like “hindi ko pa nararamdaman ang bagyo more more!” “iniisip ko kung bakit umuulan pero mas iniisip ko kung pano na ang inuman!” or this Filipina from Dubai who thinks that this all happened because we are sinners in Philippines, it made my heart want to burst out of anger. How can they say such things. how can they be so heartless. Have they seen those newborn babies lifeless? Did they ever realized the pain it was to a mother to lose all her children and her husband? May God bless them, May God forgive their souls. I am still in pain. I can’t look in the eyes of the victims, i see fear, i see denial but everytime i take a second look, i see courage, i see acceptance and above all i can see HOPE. Keep praying guys, that those who are still trapped and unrescued will soon be found and reach safety.
